LD Lines craft Norman Arrow

The launch of the new seacat service between Dover and Boulogne will take place this weekend after all.

It had been put back for a week because of a delay in certification. But a spokesman for LD Lines said all the documentation was now in place and the first crossing will be made from Dover on Saturday morning as planned.

The wave-piercing catamaran is to operate under the British flag and will make four return crossings each day.

The Norman Arrow will be the largest fast craft ever to operate on the Channel.

Final preparations are being made for the start of the new service.

Norman Arrow can carry up to 1,200 passengers, 417 cars or combination of up to 30 freight vehicles and 195 cars. Crossing time will be one hour.
