A YOUNG man was knocked unconscious early today in a street attack on Margate seafront. The 22-year-old, who lives in the town, was set upon by the clocktower at Marine Terrace at about 1.15am.

He was taken to the Queen Mother Hospital, Margate, for treatment and detained for observation. The attack was seen by CCTV camera operators who alerted police.

A 21-year-old man from Margate and a 22-year-old man from Faversham were being questioned in connection with the incident.
