A pensioner is still missing more than three weeks after he disappeared.

Amarjit Lehal, 69, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, went for a walk from his Chatham home 25 days ago today and has not been seen since.

A search involving a police helicopter, sniffer dogs and volunteers has so far failed to find him.

Mr Lehal’s family held a tearful appeal for information last week.

Police said they had received some calls and were pursuing them.

Mr Lehal’s son Harjit said: "He’s a lovely chap. You may have had a passing conversation with him in the street. He may have smiled at you. He may have asked after you or passed the time of day.

“He was last seen on the day he disappeared on the edge of Blue Bell Hill village. We have had some grotty weather in between.

"We’re very concerned about his safety, but we’re trying to keep up hope.”
