Service to community earns Bill MBE

ROYAL RECOGNITION: Bill Peppiatt

THANET district and Broadstairs town councillor Bill Peppiatt was today receiving an MBE at Buckingham Palace.

Cllr Peppiatt was named in the Queen's Birthday Honours for services to the community, especially health care, in Broadstairs and East Kent.

He is a retired teacher who taught at Chatham House Grammar School, Ramsgate, and St Edmund’s School, Canterbury. He also chairman of governors at Upton junior school, Broadstairs, and chairman of Broadstairs Bowls Tournament.

He is the long-standing chairman of the Canterbury and Thanet Community Health Council the NHS watchog.
