Drivers in Canterbury faced long delays on Friday evening after a crash on the A2050 New Dover Road.

The crash happened around two miles south-east of the city at around 5.30pm, close to the Old Gate Inn.

Both carriageways were closed between Old Dover Road and the A2 while emergency services attended the scene.

Traffic was unable to exit the A2 as a result.

It is not currently known how many vehicles were involved or whether anyone was injured.
