Two brothers who posted a video on YouTube of them skiing round Folkestone have come forward following our appeal.

Skiers in Folkestone Old Town

Martin and Richard Plested filmed themselves skiing down the steep The Old High Street and along the Coastal Park’s zig zag path during last week's heavy snow.

Both are keen skiers – Martin teaches part-time at Folkestone dry ski slope and Richard is spending this week skiing in Austria.

"We just saw the snow on Thursday and decided to go for it," said Martin 23, of Harbour Way, Folkestone.

"We skied along some of the roads, down The Old High Street and along the zig zag path.

"Most people we saw thought it was great fun. There was no traffic about and we were careful not to be a danger to pedestrians.

"It was just a bit of fun. People were laughing at us and taking pictures. It is not every day you can do something like this."

They were caught on camera (above right) by passer-by Max Hess.

Mr Hess said: "They were doing about 25mph on the steepest part. Some peope had to move out of the way quite quickly."

The hill, which is part of the Creative Quarter, is cobbled and traffic restricted.
