Parts of Kent have seen snow fall this morning as the cold spell continues.

There was snow on Medway City Estate in Strood and in Maidstone as the county faced a frosty start to the morning.

In Medway at about 10.30am snow fell and Angela Harrison a lecturer in journalism at the Centre for Journalism at the University of Kent in Medway tweeted some of her students had run outside to see the white stuff falling as they had never seen snow before.

It is expected to remain cold today with some sunny spells later in the east at first, and again in the west later.

Canterbury and Ashford have also seen some snow this morning.

On Friday morning there will be a misty and cloudy start some patchy rain and drizzle, but it should be mostly dry in the afternoon, perhaps with a few brighter spells and it should be milder with temperatures reaching 10C.
