kmfm's Make Someone's Christmas surprises Special Olympics gold medalist after nomination by Canterbury girlfriend

A Special Olympics gold medalist has been given a Christmas present he's sure to remember thanks to kmfm and McArthurGlen, Ashford Designer Outlet.

This evening, the radio station kicked off Make Someone's Christmas with a surprise call to Reece Johnson.

Reece Johnson was the first to be called by Rob Wills

The 20-year-old, who currently lives in Billericay, was nominated by his girlfriend Hannah Knight, from Canterbury, for never letting his autism hold him back.

She said: "My amazing boyfriend won gold for England playing football in the Special Olympics in the United Arab Emirates and has since been to Israel to promote disabilities with the Olympic committee.

"He recently completing his CSCS card (a construction certificate) to try and get a job despite his social anxiety.

"Reece deserves the world and more. He is the most incredible person I know."

Rob Wills from kmfm Drivetime called the sporting champion just after 6pm and revealed he will be getting a PlayStation 4 along with a copy of FIFA 2020.

Make Someone's Christmas is in its fifth year and aims to surprise 10 people in Kent over the next two weeks.

kmfm has received hundreds of nominations about incredible people in the county.

Reece is the first to receive a surprise phone call - tune in at 6pm tomorrow to hear call number two.
