Gusts of up to 55mph have been hitting Kent where a yellow weather warning for strong winds was in place.

The weather warning came into force at 1am and lasted all morning.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind in Kent

This afternoon, there are delays of up to two hours on DFDS Seaways and P&O Ferries between Dover and Calais due to the weather conditions.

Earlier, the wind caused disruption to Southeastern train services between Hastings and Tonbridge due to fallen tree on the line at Frant.

Trains heading in the opposite direction were not affected.
