A 20-year-old university student has been found guilty of putting a young prostitute through a terrifying rape ordeal as she walked through a recreation ground at night to meet a customer.

A Crown Court heard that as Mohammed Khan carried out the sex attack he swore at the teenager, telling her to shut up, saying: “I have murdered 20 people tonight, including coppers. Don’t make yourself the 21st.”

The call girl later told police she got a good look at her attacker’s face and recognised him as a “punter” who had previously given her two dud £20 notes in payment.

She picked Khan then living in Ordnance Street, Chatham, out of an identification procedure.

Khan denied three charges of rape but was found guilty by a jury at Maidstone Crown Court. Sentencing was adjourned for probation and psychiatric reports until January 11. Khan was remanded in custody.

The prostitute was subjected to repeated rape on April 1.

Caroline Knight, prosecuting, said a friend who was concerned about her would drive her to the area and stay in contact with her before taking her home.

Just after 11pm, a car drove past her, tooted and pointed in the direction he wanted her to go. She took it to mean he wanted “business”.

As she walked through Jackson Fields in Rochester to meet him, she was grabbed from behind and warned: “Come quietly and I won’t hurt you.”

He dragged her towards tennis courts as she struggled to get free. He put his hand over

her mouth to stop her screaming.

When Khan faced her, she recognised him as the client who had given her two forged £20 notes about a month earlier.

She screamed when she saw others in the park, but they ignored her. He molested her and then made the murder warning.

Miss Knight said Khan raped the girl and then forced her to perform a sex act on him, saying he did not want any DNA evidence to be found.

When he had finished, he walked off and she fled from the area. She contacted her friend and told him what had happened.

He arrived and when they saw a police patrol car, they told officers she had been attacked.
