Student robbed by bag snatchers

A SPANISH woman had her bag snatched as she waited outside a telephone box in Cliftonville, near Margate, while her friend made a call. The 20-year-old language student was approached by two men who demanded that she hand over the bag.

When she refused, they snatched it from her and ran off towards Palm Bay. The bag contained money, a camera, mobile telephone and telephone vouchers, together valued at £300.

The main offender is in his mid to late teens with short blond hair. He wore a blue top and white trousers. Police are viewing CCTV film of the area to man. The robbery happened last night at about 11.30pm. Wittnesses are being askedd to telephone Thanet police, 01843 231055.
