Students learn about the horrors of the holocaust

Eight students from schools across Medway will never forget their visit to the former Nazi camps of Auschwitz and Auschwitz-Birkenau, in Poland.

The group flew from London to Krakow, as part of the Holocaust Educational Trust’s (HET) Lessons from Auschwitz Project.

The pupils, many of which are studying A-level history, attend Chapter School in Strood, Chatham Grammar School for Boys, Fort Pitt Grammar School, Chatham and Rainham Mark Grammar School, in Rainham.

They joined about 200 other students and teachers from across the south east for the visit.

Don't miss Friday's print edition of the Medway Messenger for our special report on the Auschwitz trip.
