The summer washout is continuing as the Met Office issues a warning for heavy rain over the next few days.

Showers are expected to develop today, which are likely to be heavy, slow moving and thundery.

While some areas may miss the deluge, others could see two to three hours of downpours - possibly causing roads to flood.

Wet conditions are expected to continue through tomorrow, possibly causing chaos on the roads.

Forecasters say localised flooding of homes and businesses is possible, with Kent likely to see the heaviest showers tomorrow afternoon.

A yellow "be aware" warning for rain is in place from 10.20am to 11.55pm today, and 12.05am to 11.55pm on Wednesday.
