The mad rush for a school uniform has started - and the bargains are credit crunch-beating.

In fact, you can pick up almost an entire kit for under a tenner!

Those are the findings of KentOnline’s whistlestop tour of Asda, Tesco and Woolworths.

Woolworths, for example, is offering a great value five pack deal for school polo shirts priced at only £6.25.

At Asda you can buy two polo shirts for £3. But at Tesco it will only set you back £2.85 for three.

But if you prefer normal short-sleeved shirts, a pack of two for girls and boys at Asda, will cost you £3.50. At Tesco you can buy three for £3 and if your wallet stretches a little further, at Woolworths you can get five for £8.50.

Tesco’s school trousers are priced at £3, two pound cheaper than at Asda and at Woolworths you can buy two pairs for £8.

And for just under £8 at Tesco you can buy nearly a full kit that includes a sweatshirt, three shirts and a pair of trousers.

KentOnline’s Aurelia Allen visited Tesco and Asda to find out more about the stores' great offers and spoke to a few mums to get their thoughts. See her video above.
