Support grows for deportation case student

UNDER THREAT: Husien Panahi

A STUDENT facing deportation to Afghanistan is refusing to let the storm over his future get him down.

Husien Panahi, 19, continues to work part-time at the Enigma Wine Bar in Rochester High Street.

It is one of the many jobs the Chatham Grammar School pupil has undertaken to support himself since he arrived in the UK four years ago.

Husien says he is overwhelmed by the amount of support he has received, adding: "It's been tremendous. People have even come up to me in the street and asked how they can help my campaign.

"They have also told me that I deserve to stay in this country. All the support has been very encouraging."
