PART of Bluewater was evacuated on Sunday following reports of a suspicious package.

Police were called to the giant shopping centre just before midday and carried out a search.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "The shopping centre was partially evacuated while police conducted a search."

The packaged was found to be harmless and the centre was fully re-opened at 1.20pm.

Army bomb disposal experts were not needed for this incident.
