Suspected burglar suffers stab wounds

A HOUSEHOLDER has been released on police bail following an incident in which a suspected burglar suffered stab wounds.

It happened in Hackney Road, Fant, Maidstone on Monday, at about 9pm.

The injured man was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital in Tunbridge Wells following the incident. His knife wounds were not life-threatening.

The householder, who has not been identified, was arrested after the incident and was said to be helping police with their inquiries. He has since been released on police bail.

Kent Police have not released any further details of the incident.

A spokesman said the force was working closely with the Crown Prosecution Service to agree the most appropriate action in accordance with the law and the relevant guidelines.
