POLICE are investigating after a 16-year-old girl was headbutted and had her mobile phone stolen as she walked along a footpath in the county.

The victim was walking to the footbridge in the Fant area, which leads to Wharf Road, Tovil, between 9.30pm and 10pm on Monday when the incident took place.

She was approached by three young men, one of whom asked her what time it was. When she looked at her mobile phone to tell him, he headbutted her and took the phone.

The girl suffered bruising to her head and a possible broken nose.
