The Bishop of Dover, the Right Reverend Trevor Willmott

The Bishop of Dover has devised a sweet idea to entice people back to church.

The Right Reverend Trevor Willmott will give away sticks of rock on the junction of Northdown Road and Prices Avenue, Cliftonville, on Monday morning.

The specially-produced sweets feature the words 'come back to church'.

A spokesman for the bishop said: "He believes that churches can help regenerate an area - Holy Trinity in Northdown Park Road, Cliftonville, is a good example of this.

Around 2,500 people visit its resource centre every week, through youth groups, after school clubs, computer courses for adults, and lunches for the elderly."
