Thousands flock to oddball festival

Oddities including an alligator’s head said to have been found in the sewers of Maidstone, and a year’s worth of back hair shavings were just some of the things on show at the Aylesford Festival.

They were in the "World's Strangest Things" tent with other rarities such as a human bone that had been used as an ice skate and a mummified hedgehog.

About 4,500 people flocked to Forstal Recreation Ground for the festival, which was sponsored by the KM and Sainsbury's and opened by Chatham and Aylesford MP Jonathan Shaw.
