Thousands rock at music festival

Sex Pistol tribute band, No Future, perform on the main stage at Sellindge Music Festival

Chart band Idlewild topped the bill at the first ever Sellindge Music Festival at the weekend.

More than 3,000 fans poured into Hope Farm where the music was as hot as Sunday's sun.

Fans rocked to the likes of Idlewild, Syd Arthur and The Hair.

Visitors also enjoyed a mix of indie, dance and folk music, as well as a fun fair and craft stalls.

The two-day event was the brainchild of Andre Double, who is fulfilling his grandfather’s ambition to stage his own music festival.

“Getting a band like Idlewild was hard work - there was a lot of negotiating and give and take from both

parties," he said.

“It is hard when you are a new festival on the scene. You are a bit of an

unknown quantity, but the main thing is I have a good team around me.”
