Three men have been charged in connection with tampering with a cashpoint at Ashford's Asda.

A so-called 'Lebanese Loop' device had been put on the cash machine of the Kimberley Way store.

On Sunday afternoon, a customer discovered a card skimming device on the cash machine and alerted the store. Later that day three men were arrested.

Khuril Radlescu, 29, Andrius Paskauskas 30 and Roman Strelchuk 23, were charged with possession or control of an article for use in fraud and have been remanded in custody until August 8 when they will appear at Maidstone Crown Court.

Det Insp Steve Bridges said: "I would like to thank the customer who handed in the device to the store's security staff for their vigilance.

The police urge anyone who sees anything suspicious on a cash machine or suspects it has been tampered with to contact the bank, store or garage that services the machine. Officers advise to keep your pin number safe and cover your hand when entering your number.
