Thugs in bid to snatch womens' handbags

TWO youths attempted to rob two young women as they walked along a lane in a Kent village.

The youths approached the women in Whitehorse Lane at Otham, near Maidstone. and demanded money from them.

When a car passed by, the two youths hid in bushes at the side of the road, before they approached the two victims again and tried to snatch handbags. They made off again when another vehicle went past.

Police are particularly keen to hear from the occupants of a metallic blue Honda car who went past as the incident was unfolding.

The offenders are both described as white teenage boys, aged around 13. One is thin and pale and about 5ft tall. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark coloured hooded top with a red line and a yellow line around the top of it.

The other is described as around 5ft in height. He was wearing a dark coloured jacket.

The victims are both in their 20s. The incident happened at around 5pm on Thursday, August 25.
