Kent weather: Yellow warning for thunderstorms and heavy downpours

Thunderstorms are set to hit Kent tomorrow for the second time in a week.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the country from 10am until midnight.

The yellow weather warning has been moved to cover half the county

Forecasters are warning that torrential downpours could cause disruption to travel, with spray from the road surface and flooding leading to difficult driving conditions.

Residents may also be hit with power cuts and a loss to other services in their homes and businesses.

A Met Office spokesperson added: "There is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads."

It comes days after a huge storm hit Kent following last week's sweltering temperatures.

The mercury had soared to 32C on Friday but torrential downpours and a thunder storm hit on Saturday night.

A house in Lower Stoke, Rochester, caught fire after being struck by lightning.
