Thunderstorm alert for Kent as Met Office issues yellow weather warning

A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms is set to come into force across the county.

It will be active from 6am tomorrow until 12pm in Kent.

The Met Office says the weather could cause trouble on the roads, as well as delays to train services.

“There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water, leading to longer journey times by car and bus,” weather forecasters say.

There is also the chance a few homes and businesses could flood, leading to some damage to buildings or structures.

The wet weather on Friday could also see a few buildings and structures damaged by lightning strikes, as well as short-term loss of power.
