Long traffic queues built up on the A2 London-bound following an accident near the Gate Services at Boughton on Wednesday evening.

It is believed that three cars, one bike and one lorry are involved.

Traffic tailed back beyond the services in both lanes.

The area has been suffering from congestion during the past few days due to the ongoing roadworks at the Brenley Corner roundabout.
