Tunbridge Wells soldier crowned Miss England

Katrina Hodge, a Lance Corporal who's just been named Miss England.

A soldier from Kent dubbed "Combat Barbie" has officially been crowned Miss England.

Lance Corporal Katrina Hodge from Tunbridge Wells was drafted in to compete in the Miss World contest at the last moment, after Rachel Christie relinquished her title.

Ms Christie - the niece of athlete Linford - stepped down following her arrest over an alleged nightclub brawl.

Katrina, 21, was once laughed at for arriving for army basic training with pink luggage, a pink coat and kitten heels.

But in 2005, she won a commendation for bravery, while serving with the 1st Battalion, Royal Anglian Regiment, after wrestling two rifles from an Iraqi prisoner in Basra.
