Matt Cardle

with drivetime DJ Andy Walker

X Factor’s Matt Cardle was in Kent this week and is giving kmfm an exclusive intimate performance at our studios on Friday, February 3, which listeners have the chance to win their way into.

If you win a place at the event, I hope you have a great time – you are certainly going to be up close and personal to the man himself.

For the rest of you, keep listening to kmfm to hear Matt’s new single, Amazing.

There are some other great new tunes out at the moment. Cover Drive are a four-piece group from Barbados who seem to have come from nowhere to become No1 this week with Twilight.

Hit-maker Rihanna, who seems to still be on holiday – have you seen the pictures of her frolicking in the sea wearing a bikini no thicker than floss – has given us a brilliant tune called You Da One.

If making hits was not enough, Rihanna will be on our TV screens soon on the hunt for the UK’s next big fashion designer.

Make sure you listen out for Gotye on kmfm. His big breakthrough song in the UK is Somebody That I Used To Know. Gotye is a singer-songwriter born in Belgium who grew up in Australia whose real name is Wouter – a variation of Walter – De Backer. He’s won MTV awards and got the music bug after an elderly neighbour gave him his late wife’s record collection.

Lloyd and Andre 3000’s Dedication To My Ex is still one of the most requested tracks on kmfm.

It is about Andre’s girlfriend who had an affair while he was away on holiday. Ouch. Yet again proving that a huge majority of songs are about relationships and love.

One of my favourite songs remains Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera’s hit Moves Like Jagger. We’ve been playing the track since last summer yet it never gets boring and remains huge.

When I’m out and about you always see people turning up the volume when the track is on kmfm. It still gets the dancefloors packed when I DJ at venues too. It is not very often a song still has that 'I still love it’ factor, but Adam Levine has done it with this. Epic tune!

Speak to you on your way home – I’ll play that song for you!
