TV star 'vehemently denies' theft charge

KENT-based television celebrity Michael Hogben has appeared before a court accused of theft.

The star, who has appeared in shows including Bargain Hunt, Auction Man, Name Your Price and Real Deal, is alleged to have taken two antique paintings from a house in Dover Road, Walmer, near Deal, in June 2005.

Defence solicitor Jim Morrison, told Folkestone magistrates on Wednesday that Hogben, 54, of Dymchurch Road, Hythe, "vehemently denied" the charges

The case was adjourned until Wednesday, January 17, when Hogben is again due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates' Court.
