Two cut free after Sutton Valence crash

Air ambulance lands on the M20

A man was flown to hospital by air ambulance after he and another were cut free from a two-car crash in Sutton Valence.

The A274 Headcorn road has now reopened after the crash between New Barn Road and the High Street at around 11.30am today.

Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to free both men - with one flown to the Royal London Hospital and the other taken by land ambulance to Pembury Hospital in Tunbridge Wells.

The man taken to Pembury was said to be in his 70s, and suffering from minor injuries to his shoulder and chest. The other man is said to have serious chest and pelvic injuries.

The road was shut for more than five hours as police carried out their investigations.
