DETECTIVES in Thanet are today questioning a man and a woman about the death of a one-year-old baby girl.

Police officers and an ambulance crew were called to a house in Manston Road, Ramsgate, yesterday afternoon. They discoveded the baby suffering from serious injuries. She was taken to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate where she later died.

A post-mortem examination later revealed she died of multiple injuries. The baby has not yet been named.

A man aged 22 and an 18-year-old woman have been arrested and are being held at Margate Police Station.
