Victim of serious assault found on pavement

A SERIOUS attack in the street has left a young man having to undergo stomach surgery.

The 17-year-old was assaulted in Sidcup on Friday. It is believed the incident happened around 11.30pm near or at the bus stop in Faraday Avenue, close to the junction with Footscray Lane.

A passing motorist alerted the emergency services after seeing the victim lying on the pavement bleeding from a wound to his head.

He is in a stable condition and being treated in hospital for stomach and head injuries.
