Video: Kent's best on show

Visitors are flocked to the showground at Detling on Friday as the sun shone on the opening day of the Kent County Show.

Despite an early setback when all traders were left without power for just over 10 minutes, punters were soon able to enjoy the hundreds of stands and attractions.

Thousands are expected to descend on the biggest outdoor event in Kent over the weekend.

Visitors will enjoy livestock shows and countryside pursuits; including fly-fishing, ferret racing, birds of prey, hounds and working Gun Dogs.

A "youth village" created by Kent County Council's Togogo project is offering live entertainment and the chance to use wi-fi laptops and a climbing wall. The project is designed to help teenagers tackle boredom by offering them information on sports, clubs, entertainment and places to visit.

The forestry section will feature traditional and modern timber skills, while an agricultural zone called 'Why Farming Matters' will focus on the importance of farming in the county.
