The release of wishes attached to lanterns created a spectacular light show to bring down the curtain on another sucecssful Oyster Festival in Whitstable.

Hundreds of people gathered as wishes which had been on sale throughout the festival were released.

And the wish from festival organisers was, can we do it all again.

Co-ordinator Mair Stratton said: “It has been a fantastic week and I would love to do it all again right now.

“Events such as the mud tug and the oyster eating competition were fantastic and real crowd-pleasers but it was lovely to be able to include a whole range of activities."
