Video store robbers spoke in 'a foreign language'

POLICE are hunting three robbers who burst into a video store and held staff at knife point.

The raid, on Blockbusters in Welling, happened on Sunday between 9.50pm and 10pm. Three members of staff were preparing to close the store in Bellegrove Road when the men entered and hit two of their victims.

They took cash and ran out of the store. It is not known in which direction they went.

Their victims did not require hospital treatment.

Bexley police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A police spokesman said: “All three suspects are described as Asian men in their 20s. They spoke in what is described as a foreign language. The first was dark skinned, about 6ft tall and clean shaven. He wore a dark hooded jacket and a black baseball cap.

“The second suspect was also about 6ft tall and had a beard. He wore a dark blue or black hooded jacket and a bandana with white stripes.

“Suspect three was clean shaven and wore a dark jumper, blue jeans and brown trainers.”

The incident is being investigated by Bexley CID.
