Young golfer hopes for
more international success

Top young British golfer Max Orrin is teeing off on a new season
of golf after great success last year.

The 15-year-old from Birchington is hoping for his best ever season
in a career that has already seen him rated as one of the best in
the UK.

In January he went on his first trip abroad with England boys
where he impressed by gaining eight points out of a possible 12 in
the three-way tournament with host country South Africa and
Canada.

With his sights set on individual and team matches this season, Max
has an ambition to play in the British open tournament when it
returns to the Royal St George's course at Sandwich after an
absence of eight years.

He said: "It was a terrific honour to play for England and I cannot
wait to represent my country again.

Max, a student at Chatham House Grammar in Ramsgate, is a member at
North Foreland Golf Club at Kingsgaten and also plays for Kent at
under 18 and under 21 level.

He believes that more young people are becoming interested in the
game.

He said: "It is a really enjoyable sport and it is good for
keeping your fitness up. I have made many friends playing for my
club, county and country. I'd recommend it."

Max has his future mapped out and plans to attend a university in
Tennessee, America, that concentrates on golf after he has
completed his A levels.

He has been playing since he was eight-years-old and shares his
family's passion for golf - his parents and three brothers all
play; his oldest brother David, an ex Chatham House student, is a
golf pro in America.
