POLICE are appealing for information after war medals were among the items stolen by burglars who raided a house after smashing a rear window.

The thieves broke into the property in Robins Avenue, Lenham, near Maidstone, on Saturday between 2pm and 6pm.

They stole jewellery and two sets of war medals. One set dated back to the Second World War and the other set included medals from Northern Ireland, Kuwait and the Gulf War.

They are very distinctive and police believe that they could be easily identifiable.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Mark Beresford on 01622 604185 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 – this call is free and confidential.
