Villagers woke to no water this morning after a pipe burst.

People in Headcorn were told to expect low water pressure or no water at all while engineers worked to repair the fault.

The leak was found in Kings Road, and workers from South East Water were at the site by 7.10am.

The area was closed between the junction of North Street and Moat Road, to Ulcombe Road, at around 2am.

Bal Sandhu, the manager of Costcutter in Kings Road, said: "About three weeks ago, I reported a rusty-coloured water outside my back door and now this has happened.

"We've not got any water here and I've had a few people who have come in to buy bottles of water but not many."

Headcorn Primary School, also in Kings Road, was affected but is open as normal.
