Poor weather continued to play havoc with Europe’s top water skiers as day two of the European Water Ski Racing Championship was hit by further cancellations.

After Sunday’s opening four races were abandoned because of strong winds, organisers were forced to pull Tuesday afternoon’s races as conditions were again deemed to be too dangerous.

Spectators did get to see some action in the morning with racing in the EuroKids A and B and the Junior’s and Women’s F1 and F2 classes, but many skiers have still not taken to the water.

Organisers opted not to reschedule racing for today (Wednesday) but the competition should resume around the Royal Harbour tomorrow (Thursday).

Forecasters are predicting sunshine and scattered showers for the rest of the week.
