A LUCKY punter from Orpington scooped over £100,000 by placing just a £1 bet over the weekend.

The huge football accumulator was placed on Sunday afternoon when the 26-year-old man, who does not wished to be named, went online to bet on the outcome of 20 games in Argentina, Chile, Denmark, Turkey, Belgium, Holland, Mexico, Norway, Portugal, Spain and America.

His original £1 bet paid out £50,691.98, but with bookies Victor Chandler adding a bonus, it almost doubled to £100,691.98.

Neal Wilkins, spokesman for Victor Chandler, said: “It was a tremendous achievement and you have to take your hat off to the man. The funny thing was that one of his selections, in the Chilean League, was postponed on Sunday and it was played on Monday night. It meant that he was sitting on 19 winners and had to wait a day to see if the last leg obliged.”
