POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fatal car accident on Saturday morning.

A car and a large goods vehicle were involved in the crash on the A228 Rathcliffe Highway outside the Windmill pub, Hoo, at around 7.10am.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit have attended the scene and are asking anyone with any information to contact the witness appeal line on 01622 600970.
