A KENT woman died after a car accident on Sunday evening.

The woman, from Rochester, was a passenger in a Renault van travelling up Blue Bell Hill towards Chatham when the accident happened.

Police say they received a call at just after 8pm and arrived to find the van overturned.

The woman, who has not yet been named,was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham, but pronounced dead on arrival.

Firefighters from Maidstone and Medway attended the scene and the road was closed until just after midnight.
