Woman in court over brothel claim

A Gravesend woman has appeared before magistrates in Medway accused of acting or assisting in managing a brothel in Rochester.

Tania Bibby, 37, of Pelham Drive, Gravesend, pleaded not guilty to the charge and will be sent to Crown Court at Maidstone for a summary trial at a later date.

Bibby pleaded guilty to a seperate charge of possession after police officers found two small bags of cannabis on a chair in a property in Slatin Road, Rochester.

She received a caution from police.

Magistrates handed Bibby a fine of £80 with £60 costs and a £15 'victim surcharge.'
