A woman has been punched in the head by a gang of teenage girls in a sickening racist attack.

The black victim, in her 40s, was targeted by the six-strong group as she carried her shopping in Folkestone.

She was walking in Devon Road, from Foord Road near Folkestone Storage, when she spotted the group of girls.

Moments later, the woman was punched in the head in what detectives describe as a racially-motivated assault.

A short while later, she went to look for the offenders with her daughter and the pair were subjected to racist abuse from youths walking towards Shepway Close.

The attack happened between 8.30pm and 9pm on Saturday, September 29 - but Kent Police have only just released details.
