BOB WOOLMER: his remains were flown back to his home in Cape Town yesterday

ALLEGATIONS that former Kent cricketer Bob Woolmer, who died of strangulation earlier this year, was also poisoned will be aired in a BBC Panorama programme tonight.

The results of toxicology tests mean it now seems almost certain the Pakistan coach was rendered helpless before being strangled.

Mr Woolmer was found murdered in his hotel in Kingston in the West Indies on March 18, the day after his side lost to Ireland in the World Cup. The killing cast a shadow over the tournament.

Mr Woolmer's remains were flown back to his home in Cape Town in South Africa on Sunday.

Some 30 detectives are still investigating Mr Woolmer's death.

The Panorama programme, Murder at the World Cup, will be broadcast on BBC1 at 8.30pm tonight.
