A worker was tied up and left overnight after masked burglars raided an architect's practice in Westerham.

The member of staff was only freed after his wife reported him missing.

At around 8pm last Thursday two masked men entered the practice in the High Street and forced a worker to lie on the floor, where his hands and legs were tied.

The pair stole computer equipment worth thousands of pounds and a green Mini Cooper, with the registration HT04 MPZ.

Their victim, discovered the next day, was said to be distraught but not injured.

Det Sgt Paul Irwin said: "We are following a number of lines of inquiry in relation to this incident.

"I am particularly keen to trace the car that was stolen and would ask people to tell police if they are aware of a green Mini Cooper, HT04 MPZ, that has been abandoned.

"Also we would be pleased to hear from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in Westerham High Street between 6pm and 9pm on Thursday evening."

Anyone with information should contact police on 01732 379217 (if possible quoting reference 319) or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their name. Information can also be emailed to appeals.westkent@kent.pnn.police.uk
