GILLINGHAM manager Ronnie Jepson has been given the green light by Charlton to loan rookie striker Chris Dickson.

The 22-year-old has been banging in the goals for the Addicks during pre-season and boss Alan Pardew is keen for the striker to join the Gills.

Pardew said: "My gut feeling is that I want to loan him out. He needs educating about what professional football is all about."

Jepson is a big fan of the striker and would clearly welcome him to Priestfield.

He said: "He interests me. Alan Pardew knows of my interest and if he's going to let him out then hopefully he can put him in our direction."
