Alcock heading for English Schools Championships

James Alcock will be taking on the best youngsters in England

James Alcock of Medway and Maidstone has clinched selection for the Sainsbury’s English Schools Athletics Championships to be held at the Gateshead International Stadium on Friday, July 11 and Saturday, July 12.

These prestigious championships will be broadcast live on Sky TV and feature over 1,700 athletes from 45 county teams.

Alcock will compete in the intermediate boys’ long jump final after registering a personal best of 6.56m this season to take the South of England silver medal in May. The Kent champion indoors and outdoors currently ranks 15th Britain as an under-17 athlete.
