MEDWAY & Maidstone's senior men's team travel to Havering in Essex this Saturday (May 17) to compete in their first ever British Athletics League match.

The club earned a place in Division 4 of the competition after winning the Southern Men's League and national play-off match last season.

They are keen to build on that success with a solid start in their inaugural meeting at a higher level.

Team manager John Taylor said: “The majority of the athletes are those that worked so hard last season to gain promotion. There are also a number of new signings that have bolstered the club's squad and will help to ensure this season is just as successful.

“The Southern League teams have already got off to a winning start this year, with wins in both their league matches so far, and the emphasis is now on producing the goods at a national level.”

Medway & Maidstone men are clearly in form and underlined their strength by having finalists in every track event during the Kent championships at Ashford last weekend.
