GILLINGHAM manager Ronnie Jepson has played down the idea that his team's home form has turned their ground into Fortress Priestfield.

The Gills have won six and drawn two of their last eight home league matches - in stark contrast to their atrocious away form.

But Jepson insists that playing at home is no guarantee that the side will pick up three points against fellow strugglers Rotherham on Saturday.

He said: "I wouldn't say that we have made it Fortress Priestfield as saying that sort of thing can easily leave you with egg on your face.

"The lads have had a good run of form at home but when they step over the white line before a game you can never be sure of how they're going to play.

"We can't be complacent just because we're playing at home. But what we have been able to do at home recently is play with the right tempo and with a smile on our faces.

"It's clear we are so close to being a half-decent side and also so close to a side being in danger again."
